Christmas is basically 2 months away, so in consideration of that…….
How about writing a Christmas Song?! Even as a beginner!!!
The feelings that come in December, And we’re only 2 months away! Sitting by the crackling fire, sipping on nog, cocoa, or peppermint mochas, closing your eyes and listening to a Christmas song. Yep, you know it.
But what if that song was written by you?!!!
I’m going to tell you why this is possible, how it is possible, and why you won’t regret it when your Christmas Song is published on streaming platforms worldwide this December. Ok maybe a little too much, a little too lofty, but if that’s not your plan, hear me out because you can probably still get something from this post. There’s a couple good reasons in here that just maybe you haven’t considered before.
*It isn’t rocket science.
With a cheap thrift store acoustic guitar, a pen and some paper plus a brain for some lyrics, a bit of simple strumming on 3 chords, C Major, F Major, and GMajor, a voice or a friend with a voice, and a smartphone for recording. Oh I guess and an internet connection to upload it, you can make a Christmas BANGER!
*A way to add some social enrichment to your friend and family life.
Your family and friends will love you even more. Imagine hanging out at a Christmas party and you tell your friend, hey listen to this song I just wrote, and you pull out your phone and press play. And they like it?!!! Talk about spreading the Christmas cheer!
*You can choose to let this attempt be good for your mental and emotional well being.
Maybe you’ve been feeling disinterested in life, maybe a little uninspired, and un-excited. Well do this just to see what will happen. You never know……Maybe you discover a new win that you can remember to inspire you to try other things with confidence. Maybe it doesn’t work, but you discover that you enjoy the process of discovering things that you might be good at by trying new things until you discover something that you're perfect for………..
Plus if you try this, It’s going to be good for your mental health to attempt something you love but don’t fully know how to do. Your brain is healthier when it’s trying to tackle something new. Also, not to mention the fact that even if you don’t like the outcome, you can appreciate the craft of Christmas songs even more, and just know that you are cut out for something equally as special, even if you have yet to discover what that is. Be nice to yourself if it doesn’t work out because this doesn’t determine your value.

*Let me conclude with this:
If all I’ve done in this post is incite some excitement in you and inspire you to take on this challenge of learning how to write a Christmas song and to go try it, then I consider this post a very valuable use of my time and hopefully you see it that way too. I encourage you! If you love Christmas music, then just try, join in on the creation of it!
